Requests, Requests & Some Requests

Why yes, we do play requests, but we need to have ‘em.
You’ve seen our list of songs, but we’re always looking for ways to spend time alone with our instruments re-learning a song we co-wrote back in the 80′s.
Add a song to the comments.
Corey’s on house arrest for three months due to a parole violation, so he can only leave to do shows. He’ll be watching the list and advising me and Corey about what songs to woodchuck on.
No, we won’t do “Sunglasses at Night”. It’s just not that good. Even Corey agrees.

carry on my wayward son
Mr Roboto
some sappy ballads
April 19th, 2008 at 3:42 am
Get some Pretenders and Talking Heads in there. Particularly “And She Was.”
April 19th, 2008 at 5:34 pm
[...] of new songs, there have been a couple of requests over in the requests requests requests area but not enough to get me to skip AA meetings and blow our sobriety by doing enough Bolivian [...]

My cousin Emily says you need to learn some Madonna. But she lives in Vegas and will be back there by the time you could possibly learn it. But she’ll visit again… someday…
Tracey Ullman – “They Don’t Know”
Talking Heads – “Road to Nowhere”
Thompson Twins – “Hold Me Now”
Alan Parsons Project – “Don’t Answer Me”
The Buggles – “Video Killed the Radio Star”
Why not some Police? (because people trying to sing like Sting would be annoying)
Billy Joel – “Pressure”
John Cougar Mellancamp – “Jack and Diane”
Stray Cats – “Rock This Town,” “Stray Cat Strut”
Thomas Dolby – “She Blinded Me With Science”
some Cyndi Lauper, yo
Matthew Wilder – “Break My Stride”
other people woud probably like some U2, but not me
Bruce Springsteen – “Dancing in the Dark,” “Glory Days”
more later
or i could shut up and go away
April 29th, 2008 at 10:53 pm
no one named corey should ever shut up and go away. that’s what they tried to do to us. (sure, we did for awhile, but court ordered rehab doesn’t really count, does it?) but we’re back!!!
regarding the requests:
nice. very nice.
though, i would like to launch ms. ullman into the ocean.
we’ve been doing material girl. does that count as madonna?
corey on… our wayward son…
May 23rd, 2008 at 3:54 pm
How about this one?
More Than A Feelin’ – Boston
June 19th, 2008 at 1:04 pm
You have a good list!
There are some notables though that you may consider:
Rock n’ Roll all nite – KISS
Rapper’s Delight – Suger Hill Gang
I think we’re alone now – Tiffany
LaBamba! – Los Lobos
I saw you all play a little of Over the Hills and Far Away and then you cut it off. Had I saw that on your list, I would’ve chosen that. Unfortunately, I was to late to sign up and sing
February 24th, 2009 at 10:29 pm
How about:
“Easy” (Lionel Richie)
“Smooth” (Rob Thomas & Santana)
I would love to try these songs!
February 24th, 2009 at 10:54 pm
Easy is on our current “to do” list. Look for it within the month!
March 6th, 2009 at 5:36 pm
Have you guys included Easy on the list yet? I wanted to do it wednesday but DJ said that if is not on the list you guys won’t do it.
Cheers!
May 1st, 2009 at 1:27 am
Ok. 2 words: “What’s Up” 4NonBlondes. always a hit
pleeeeeaaaaaaase
May 5th, 2009 at 10:53 am
I would like to try “Unchained” or “Panama” by Van Halen.
Ditto on the “More than a feelin’” request by Bostson!
May 29th, 2009 at 9:58 pm
“Easy” is now one of our tunes. One of our favorite tunes to play, by the way. Come and sing it!
July 1st, 2009 at 8:43 pm
How about “Centerfield” by John Fogerty and “Jack and Diane” by John Cougar Mellencamp?
August 1st, 2009 at 4:58 am
Oh boys, you don’t even want me to start naming all the songs possible. . . but I will request one for now. . .
weekend homework if you will. . .
TEENA MARIE – “LOVERGIRL”
I’m not from Oakwood but my pipes could be. Let’s get funked as a quad-ro-phon-ic.
I do TIP, but don’t collapse!
Tell Corey I loved him in the movie.. aw what was it… oh you know, the one with the guy doing that thing with uh his thing for that girl. Classic. Corey On.
August 6th, 2009 at 7:02 am
Yous guys got the chops to “Fly Me to the Moon”? ala Sinatra? Be Brave!
August 9th, 2009 at 9:09 pm
“boys don’t cry” the cure
imma be there tomorrow!
August 10th, 2009 at 11:01 pm
You guys could use some more girl songs. How about some Go-Go’s, Scandal, or Berlin?
March 9th, 2010 at 10:02 pm
We now have Goodbye to You by Scandal. So give me some money!!! I’ll sell you my teeth.
September 10th, 2010 at 1:18 pm
You guys are the best!!
September 11th, 2010 at 10:20 pm
I suggest:
“Celebrity Skin” by Hole
“Missionary Man” by Eurythmics
Some old skool Police, like “Roxanne” or “So Lonely”
I’m sure I’ll think of some others.
September 11th, 2010 at 10:37 pm
Anne Hedonia? Genius.
September 15th, 2010 at 5:52 pm
Do you ever play Hall n Oats??? Can you plAY any of the following?
- Maneater
- Rich Girl
- You Make My Dreams Come True
- Private eyes
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
September 16th, 2010 at 2:27 am
We had maneater on our playlist for awhile, but no one ever picked it. Since we destroyed so many brain cells doing speedballs, we have to make room in our memories for stuff the peeps pick. If you were to give us a few days notice and actually show up, we’d be thrilled to play maneater again. it’s a great song!!!
Corey On!!!
September 21st, 2010 at 3:11 pm
September 26th, 2010 at 12:00 pm
Any additions from the grunge era would be appreciated.
- “Zero” (S. Pumpkins)
- “Alive”, “Black” (P. Jam)
- “Ocean Size”, “3 Days” (J. Addict.)
September 30th, 2010 at 7:33 pm

Coincidentaly, we added it three weeks ago!
October 19th, 2010 at 11:31 pm
“Burning Down The House” by Talking Heads
October 20th, 2010 at 8:17 am
ooh! OOOH!!! does either 4 Non-Blondes’ What’s Up or Dolly Pardon’s 9 to 5 pose any interest the the Coreys? ^_^
October 20th, 2010 at 4:04 pm
nice suggestion… you’re not the first, so that’s good.
October 29th, 2010 at 5:26 pm
How about some Meatloaf? Suuuch good belting music. Sure, in the wrong hands it could be heinous. But, oh the payoff if it goes right.
Bat Out Of Hell
Paradise By The Dashboard Lights
Please
October 29th, 2010 at 6:37 pm
Dear good sirs, your playlist is severely lacking in Joe Esposito songs. May I ask of you to include one of my favorite dittys entitled “You’re The Best” from the award winning 1984 film “The Karate Kid”?
October 29th, 2010 at 10:43 pm
Wow. That’s more obscure than Snowboard Academy!!!
We’re on a mission to add more “Girl Songs”. You know… so girls can sing.. more. Or something. Can you think of any “girl songs”?
October 31st, 2010 at 2:42 pm
Dearest bestest livest band friends: If you could add some Ace of Base, New Kids on the Block, and other such late 80s, early 90s songs to your repertoire, that would be just soooooper swell. Also, Blondie’s One Way or Another, Ben Fold’s Rocking the Suburbs, or Anything Abba would make your awesomeness even awesomer. Thanks!
October 31st, 2010 at 2:46 pm
Hmm… In that case:
Boy band songs are (unfortunately) always a win for girls, as are Taylor Swift (don’t mock, she’s the best), Carrie Underwood’s When He Cheats, Destiny’s Child, the Dixie Chicks.
December 2nd, 2010 at 5:18 pm
Take Me Home Tonight – Eddie Money (just like Corey said…)
January 10th, 2011 at 10:12 pm
Could you guys find it in your heart to add “since I’ve been loving you” by led zepp? Or “la woman”?
January 20th, 2011 at 1:20 pm
Killing Me Softly -The Fugees!!
January 26th, 2011 at 8:51 pm
Here’s a nice unreasonable request: could you learn Neon Tree’s “Animal” before Feb 9th?
I’d love to sing it but I’m starting a new night job and I won’t be able to come by on Wed nights from then on. Thank you for molding your lives around my whims.
February 2nd, 2011 at 3:09 pm
May I suggest…
Rusty Cage and Outshined – Soundgarden (Yep, I’m greedy.)
Sad But True – Metallica
Dimension – Wolfmother
I Want to be Evil – Eartha Kitt
I second Rappers Delight –
Sugar Hill Gang (Excellent suggestion and great sing along song.)
Please allow me these songs so I may rock with the power of the Corey.
February 8th, 2011 at 7:16 pm
You need girl songs? I got one: Crash, by The Primitives. Easy to sing and rockin’.
February 17th, 2011 at 3:15 am
Third Eye Blind – Semi-Charmed Life
The Beatles – Come Together
February 20th, 2011 at 5:42 pm
Do you guys do Country music at all? Do you only cover music from circa 1980ish?
If you are open to something newer, I’d like to request “I’m on a mission” by Trick Pony.
February 20th, 2011 at 9:41 pm
How would Roberta Flack feel about your request, Anny?
February 20th, 2011 at 9:42 pm
These are very good… very good… Rappers Delight struck a nerve with all of us. In the good way.
February 20th, 2011 at 9:43 pm
Any that someone besides yourself might know?
February 20th, 2011 at 9:43 pm
Very good… These (and all suggestions, actually) are now on the “To-Do” list.
February 20th, 2011 at 9:45 pm
We did “Stand By Your Man” for a spell, but so few people requested it that we removed it from our repertoire as it’s a complicated tune to keep in one’s head with all the drug/alcohol damage PLUS the rehab chants. We’ll check the song out and maybe put it on the “To Do” list.
Good suggestion, though. Thank You!
March 2nd, 2011 at 4:06 pm
My friend Natalie & I sing almost every Wednesday (Dont Stop & Sweet Caroline), we love you guys! Wondering if you could add some Hall & Oates to your set list?! Thanks! See you fools tonight!
April 1st, 2011 at 1:06 pm
How about MAGGIE MAY by Rod Stewart! SOO much fun
April 13th, 2011 at 6:12 pm
I think it would be great to sing “Say Goodbye to Hollywood” at the Happy Ending. I thought I saw “Because the Night” on your printed list at the bar but don’t see it here. Split Enz and the Cure are always fun, and of course the Smiths (guess my age, I dare ya). INXS’s “One Thing” I don’t ever see at karaoke bars but it’s so good.
April 21st, 2011 at 12:51 pm
Here I go Again – Whitesnake
April 27th, 2011 at 1:00 pm
4 Non Blondes – “Whats Up” PLEASE!!
April 29th, 2011 at 12:52 am
Space Oddity – David Bowie.
Boomtown Rats – I Don’t like Mondays.
May 10th, 2011 at 12:55 am
More girl songs:
- Breeders – “Cannonball” (Awesome and rocks hard)
- Sneaker Pimps – “6 Underground”
- Tegan and Sara – “Walking With The Ghost” (Lyrics are easy enough…)
- Ting Tings – “That’s Not My Name”
- Pretenders – “Middle of the Road”
- Go-Go’s – “We Got The Beat”
Non-girl-originated songs
- Def Leppard – “Photograph” (Cheese Factor = high)
- U2 – “Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For”
- Neon Trees – “Animal”
A duet! (Or one of you sings a lot of backup)
- Morningwood – “Nth Degree”
Also, I noticed the header graphic on your website no longer matches your new(ish) theme. This may have been an artistic choice or just not wanting bother with it, but being as I am a web designer I thought “That’s easy enough to fix,” so I did. Here: http://bit.ly/k0ka2q.
Don’t judge me because I have time on my hands.
May 10th, 2011 at 12:04 pm
Great song requests. Thank you for the “girl songs”.
Regarding the header: We like pink. That’s why it’s pink.
Time is good. We judge you for having other stuff on your hands.
May 10th, 2011 at 9:32 pm
“Regarding the header: We like pink. That’s why it’s pink.”
Lol. Fair enough.
May 11th, 2011 at 11:34 am
I forgot to add: you’d be surprised how many people’s web sites aren’t particularly intentional.
May 11th, 2011 at 11:52 pm
You guys should add some 38 special to your song list
June 18th, 2011 at 4:39 pm

June 26th, 2011 at 7:43 pm
R.E.M – Losing My Religion
The Calling – Wherever You Will Go
The Human League – Don’t You Want Me

July 15th, 2011 at 9:50 pm

Coreys- I would love to sing The Darkness “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” with you.
Let me know how I can make it happen.
July 29th, 2012 at 4:43 pm
I just don’t understand why every Live Band Karaoke group has such a sparse FEMALE playlist:-(
Heart-Alone & What About love
Melissa Etheridge- Come To My Window
Pat Benatar – Love is a Battlefield
Journey – Stone in Love
Patty Smyth-Goodbye to You
Scandal-Warrior
Allanah Myles-Black Velvet
MORE OF:
Heart, Melissa Etheridge, Taylor Dayne, Roxette, Evanessence, Lita Ford, Allana Myles, Amanda Marshall, Jewel, Janet Jackson, Pat Benatar. Not trying to attack you…believe me…I just wish that bands like yours’ would bulk up their playlist to make it more enjoyable for women. Thank you for your time:-)
July 29th, 2012 at 8:52 pm
These are great. We’re with you: We need more “Chick Songs”!!!!
The reason? Probably because as guys we grew up listening to and emulating other guys. Limited? Why yes, absolutely.
Regardless, thank you for the suggestions.
Hope to see you soon. Please say “howdy” when you stop by. Here’s hoping we have at least one of your suggestions by the time you do.
Corey On!
July 31st, 2012 at 1:11 pm
I would like to request the following songs for future Coreyoke play:
“I Believe in a Thing Called Love” – The Darkness
“Runaway” – Bon Jovi
“Out To Get Me” – Guns ‘N’ Roses
“You Better Run” – Pat Benetar
“Paris (Ooh La La) – Grace Potter & The Nocturnals
I’ll understand if any of these are not up to Coreyoke standards, but hope at least one will be.
Keep on rocking like you all do!
September 15th, 2012 at 10:43 pm
Hey! I came out to see you guys last Wednesday… but never got to sing:-( The playlist on this website states that you play, “Goodbye To You” by Scandal…but at the bar…I saw that you didn’t. And so I requested to sing, “Kiss Me Deadly” by Lita Ford…. and after waiting 2 hours…I finally asked the lady when I was up….and she informed me that the new guitar player didn’t know the song. Anyway… I love singing FEMALE songs…but you guys just don’t have them. But from the crazy busy crowd…it was apparent that your current female fans have no problems singing male song…so maybe it’s just me…Oh Well….
September 16th, 2012 at 4:04 pm
Regardless, I’m really, really, really sorry you didn’t get to sing. If you’d really like to sing Kiss Me Deadly, please come this Wednesday, our regular Corey guitarist will be there.
The super weird thing is that we didn’t play for two hours, maybe there was a time warp.
Oh well…
September 16th, 2012 at 4:05 pm
All good suggestions! The tune by “the darkness” has received more than a few requests. I may move it up towards the head of the list. Right now, we are concentrating on adding more “chick songs” as we currently don’t have enough. Either way… hope to see you soon.
Corey On!
November 28th, 2012 at 1:14 am
Greetings,
KISS is a-lacking:
“hide your heart”
“love gun”(70s- it kicks ass though)
“I was made for loving you!”
I’d bring the war paint for everyone;
just not the platforms
-cheers
November 28th, 2012 at 1:41 am
More requests:
Van halen, “ain’t talking ’bout love”
“panama”
Journey, “I’ll be alright without you”
“ask the lonely”
“Dixie highway” (check it out)
The smiths, “barbarism…”
” bigmouth strikes again”
“Double vision”… Foreigner
My comrades and fee other students in the neighborhood are planning when to visit. I hear great things

February 22nd, 2013 at 1:46 pm
More chicks songs would be AWESOME!! Maybe something like:
Even It Up, Barracuda, or Crazy on You by Heart
Gypsy, Dreams, or You Make Loving Fun by Fleetwood Mac
Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This), Who’s That Girl, or I Need A Man by the Eurythmics
The Killing Jar, Peek-A-Boo, or Kiss Them for Me by Siouxsie & the Banshees
Only Happpy When It Rains, Special, or #1 Crush by Garbage
I realize the Eurythmics and Siouxsie suggestions may put too much emphasis on the invisible keyboard player, and I don’t know how committed he is to the band, but maybe he’s just looking for more to do…?
