Rockin’ in Paradise

Even with Gordon Sumner’s band playing just up the street from us and causing traffic havoc, we filled the list before our first break again and had a total blast tonight.

Corey snapped at some environmental actor type and that was funny because no one could tell if he was serious. I still can’t tell.  Corey insulted someone else who needed attention and that’s always funny and tragic. I think it might have been the same Corey.

Who can tell when you’re on methadone? I mean really, right?

Regardless, it was the most fun we could have on a Wednesday night and we sure do love playing for the fine folks with fine taste who come to rock with us.

Oh yeah… tonight there were a plethora of frighteningly beautiful women. We all fell in love just a little bit with each and every one of you rockin’ damsels.

Most Popular

Gloria Gaynor’s haunting ballad “I Will Survive” has taken the top spot over the Bon Jovi emo death metal song “Living On A Prayer”. We’ve played the Gay-nor tune 22 times this year and Mister Bon Jovi’s ditty 21 times.

Fascinating what one can do with a database, eh?

Corey On!!!!

My Inspiration is employed!

Yay for Haim!

Now if we could just do something like that it would be awesome!

Sid Vicious - My Way

Sid reminds us a whole lot of us. Except he’s dead. But, there are oodles of parallels if you just sit back and think about them.

That’s why we’ve added his version of the Paul Anka classic “My Way” to our ever-growing list o’ tunes.

Maybe this week, you’ll sign up (early, so you actually get to sign up) and pick “My Way”, rock the house, kill your girlfriend and then O.D. Then, a few years later an actor who will disappoint everyone by turning out to be the biggest ham this side of your local Honeybaked outlet, will play you in a romanticized version of your stupid, obvious and ultimately pathetic life only the movie will just romanticize it more but we’ll all really know that you blew it completely and were no better than the dinosaur rock stars you were supposed to kick out of the business.

Whew!!! Where did that come from!?!?!

New Songs

Two new songs:

We’re Not Gonna Take It by Twisted Sister & Kiss Me Deadly by Lita Ford.

Yay!

april 30, 2008 show

It’s getting wacky, wacky, wacky at the big coreyoke shows. Thanks to summer time and meetup.com we’re getting really great crowds of folks to come down and corey along with us.

Last week our drummer, Corey Hardt, had his twin brother, Corey Hardt, sit in and play. This week it turns out that Corey Hardt wasn’t available either so his twin brother, Corey Hardt, had to fill in.

We’re pretty sure that Corey will be back next week. But if he’s not Corey Hardt said he could do it. If he can’t, Corey Hardt can do it, too. That’s what Corey said, at least.

Another thing this week: Some guy made a scary mask out of a styrofoam to-go container and scared me because I thought it was a flashback. Dr. Drew said they happen. Fortunately, it was just an guy from New Zealand with a styrofoam mask.

I’m very street so I say aks. Should I pronounce the word mask “maks”? Hmm.

If my parole officer says it’s okay, I’ll see you next week. If not, my friend, Corey, can fill in for me. But I don’t plan on breaking parole again. I know I’ve said that before.

It works if you work it, right?
